In the future expansions, please put moving lips in the damn cinematics...I know you guys don't rack in as much money as other MMORPG's but please...Moving lips would be great, and if beheading 6 people sitting in a circle...could look like a beheading, that would be great too!

kthxbye

only thing is if they actually behead it is gonna crank the games rating up past T.

and serioulsy are moving lips that high of a priority?

tell me which would you rather have the team working on? New content, some of which will be free stream right into your exisitng game? Or them working to create moving lips that sync up to the cine?

I for one vote on new content over something as frivilous and purley cosmetic as moving lips.

how about both? syncing char cinematics with the current graphic engine GW is running on takes about 20-30min per cine...if working with 2-3 people.
New content? that will be there same as always. I want to follow the storyline, not skip it because of how idiotic it looks..They can improve it, they're just lazy.

you ever trying matching up lip movement to previously scripted dialog? not the easiset thing to get the mouth looking right. Its gonna take more then 2-3 people. and even if it nesscarily doesn't. thats still 2-3 people that could have been working on something like i dunno getting a new area up a week earlier tehn if they hd been on playing around with lip suncing. Oh or they could have been designing new armor styles. or adding some new spell effects. or any number of things.

its low priority if any priority at all to make the lips move and if it bugs you that they don't i must say its really sad that you would rather skip the story then watch it simply because the characters arn't facially animated

Chances are, you are going to watch each cinematic (by choice) no more than once anyway. Maybe they figured "Why make the mouth on this character move, they're just going to die anyway." That takes care of the majority of cinematic characters...

This brings up a good point. There needs to be a way to review a cinematic.
Some sort of "memory" function maybe. Hopefully when they add the "Observer Mode" this will be implemented too.
There are several times when a mission cannot be completed if you watch the cimamatic since the "clock is ticking" while it plays. Having a way to replay later would be Very nice.

He probably didn't behead them, he just cut their throats. Ever try to behead 6 people in one swing?

I'd prefer if they fixed the incredibly cheesy dialogue first. Voice actors that don't sound like they're reading from a script would be nice too..

Moving lips would be really hard since Guild Wars is in multiple languages, and because your character talks and can have a huge number of different faces.

Default re=play cinematics

On another note, it sure would be nice to be able to watch the cinematics outside of the missions... like maybe just the movies for the missions you've complete. I enjoy story/plot development, but usually most of the people on my mission team want to skip the cutscene and move one with the action, and I don't want to hold them up. Being able to watch the movies later, like from the login or options screen, would be very cool.

if anything needs a cinematic, its the crappy 'searing' cutscene.. so boring. It consists of burning stuff and some people falling over from explosions and getting back up .. lol

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the cinematic scenes that couldn't be quickly remedied with a cold hard infusion of operating capital.

Perhaps SOE could donate 1 years worth from EQ2, since they supposedly worked on it for "5 years prior to launch," yet released a grossly unfinished, broken, and completely nonfunctional piece of merde - yet still have people clamoring to pay $15+ a month in the hope that they don't flush the toilet...?
And who says humans and lemmings cannot breed?
Proof is available online!

Honestly, I realize GW is not perfect - far from it. But when you consider what it does right vs. everyone else, posts like this are pretty petty and worthless.

As was stated above, what is more important? A solid, well balanced challenging game, or real speaking dialogue?

Curiously enough, Guild Wars is a perfect example of the former and EQ2 a perfect example of the latter.
I suggest you play accordingly.

I don't think they're are enough cutscenes to put the time and effort into having lip-synch. Most of them are like, 20 seconds long. And overall I doubt theres more than 10-15 minutes worth of scenes.

And I also agree the whole beheading thing wouldn't work, since it would most definitely bring the rating up.

You've all got it wrong!
There's no need for moving lips in guildwars because the people of Tyria don't speak with their mouths. They're telepathic.
This is further evidenced by the fact that anything you say in a town can be heard by everyone else in that town, and that I can whisper to my friend who is half a continent away.
I'd have thought it was bleedingly obvious to everyone. Just because it was never mentioned in the Lore doesn't mean it's not true!

Lips moving on the characters would be nice, but yes it's a cosmetic change and really doesn't detract much from the storyline...

Here is a little odd note. my friend was on the same connection as i.. when entered a film movie as you call it. My computer was playing the film about 3 seconds ahead of his. if there was lip movement, it might not work out to well with lip syncronisation.. then alot of people would complain about that too most likely.

But there is one film movie i did notice something alittle sexist.. After lighting the big torch to enter "Frost gate" the dwarf tells the other dwarf that (men) are comming up the mountain.. shouldnt that be? (humans)
